At Oudenburgsesteenweg 31 in Ostend, a leased logistics property with a strong investment profile came with a remarkable backstory. Strategically located in the port area of Ostend, near the A10 with direct access to the E40, the building offers 14,008 m² of warehouse space, divided into two units of 5,362 m² and 8,646 m². With 5 loading docks, 3 sectional doors, and a generous manoeuvring area of approximately 2,000 m², the site had all the characteristics of a high-performing logistics hub. March brought this opportunity back into motion: this time for an end user that had been eyeing the property for quite some time.
The buyer in this transaction was Solid International, an established company that has been active since 2000 as a manufacturer and distributor of interior doors for the professional market, the DIY segment, and tailor-made projects. Solid had previously shown interest in the building, but narrowly missed out on the acquisition. In the meantime, the company had rented additional space across multiple locations, which made internal logistics increasingly complex and inefficient. The need for one central operational hub became more pressing. The site in Ostend offered exactly what was required: scale, accessibility, and the ability to bring all logistical flows together under one roof.

Senior Companion Laurens Vermeulen closely guided the transaction and succeeded in bringing right parties back to the table. By then, the property was owned by an investor who had acquired it several years earlier by outbidding Solid by a small margin. March also brokered the transaction at the time.
March reopened discussions with the owner, with a clear objective: to explore whether a resale to Solid was possible. Thanks to a thoughtful approach and targeted negotiations, an agreement was reached that made perfect sense for both the investor and the end user.
“Once again, we achieved a nice transaction on this property. Seizing the momentum at the right time is crucial.” - Laurens Vermeulen, March
This transaction perfectly illustrates where March makes the difference: not only in matching real estate with a buyer, but in understanding the strategic context behind a decision. What initially started years ago ultimately became a successful acquisition through persistence, timing, and market insight. For Solid, this meant consolidating its logistics operations into one strong location in Ostend. For March, it was yet another confirmation that the best deals are made when the right momentum can be found and seized.
