Not every property search is a straight road. For De Houthoeve, the journey started with a deal that was nearly sealed through March — until it fell through at the last minute. Rather than see it as a loss, March Companion Laurens Vermeulen treated it as a challenge. He set out to find a solution that would not only make up for the disappointment but deliver something even better suited to the company’s needs.
For over 30 years, De Houthoeve has been a trusted name in woodworking. From bespoke kitchens and cabinetry to timber frame construction and both interior and exterior joinery, the company blends traditional skill with modern methods. Their work is defined by precision, quality, and customer focus. Any new premises would need to reflect that — not just a functional space, but a workshop capable of supporting their ambitions and growth.
That match came in the form of Desremo’s development at Filliersdreef 44 in Deinze. These newly built SME units are set in a craft and business zone, ideally positioned between the E17 and E40 motorways and within walking distance of a bus route linking Deinze and Ghent. Although Desremo typically handles sales directly, March was able to open the door for De Houthoeve. After several productive meetings, a 908 m² unit was chosen and tailored to meet the exact needs of a modern joinery operation.
“When our first option fell through, March led us to an even better fit.”
Today, De Houthoeve operates from a purpose-built, future-ready workspace. Its layout and facilities are designed for efficiency — with dedicated production zones, ample storage, and smooth logistics. The location offers excellent access for both clients and suppliers, while the modern, well-equipped environment provides the perfect platform for continued innovation and growth. March didn’t just find them a building — they helped secure a space that truly works for their business.
